The Gospel tells us to “feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick”.
Two of the ways the people of the Parish Church of St. Bartholomew respond to this admonition are by participating in the Estes Park Crop Walk and by sponsoring the Estes Park Sit-in.
The Crop Walk is an annual event nation wide. It has a long history both nationally and in Estes Park. The congregations of many of the local Churches participate in this event. . The participants gather pledges from people who sponsor them to walk around Lake Estes. The monies thus gained are given to the Church World Service and to Estes Park’s own Crossroads Ministry.
The MS Sit In is an event sponsored by St. Bart’s to raise awareness and fund in the hopes of finding a cure for those suffering from demylenating neuropathies of which Multiple Sclerosis is the most widely known. Many of those affected by these diseases can not walk, ride or run. The money raised is given to the GBS/CIDP Foundation (Guillain-Barre Syndrome/Chronic Inflammatory Demylenating Polyradiculoneuropathy) to aid its work in seeking treatment and cure and providing aid to those who suffer neuropathies.
